Today, the set-top box has become a central distribution device for TV and other digital media around the home. Increasingly, consumers are demanding seamless access, not only to broadcast TV and online, on-demand TV services but also to their own music, videos and photos. The next generation of set-top boxes responds to these requirements.

Delivering the underlying STB hardware and software is vital, but delivering a compelling user experience is the key to a successful and enjoyable service offering. To address this challenge the ANT Galio Platform provides set-top box OEMs with an easy to integrate, complete application services platform that supports standards from bodies such as HbbTV, the Open IPTV Forum and the UK Digital TV Group (DTG).

With a high degree of cross platform portability and a rich set of APIs, the ANT Galio Platform provides a flexible solution that enables manufacturers to easily extend the capabilities of a device, either in different models in the same product family or as downloadable updates once a device has been deployed. A core set of highly customisable TV applications can also be supplied pre-integrated with the ANT Galio Platform, significantly reducing product development time and cost.
