Zapper/ Channel Banner
The Zapper application provides the basic functionality required to change channels, control playback, and display information about programmes on the current channel.
Lists available channels from all sources, such as IPTV and DVB channels in a single list
Provides channel navigation and detailed programme information
Supports parental control, blocking restricted material according to user settings
Trick play banner for time-shifted and recorded programmes
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)
The EPG application provides a detailed guide to available programmes
Choice of EPG formats and styles, including
Translucent
Opaque with scaled TV window
Grid-style
Newspaper-style
Display detailed information about a programme either as a popup window or as part of the EPG display
Supports integration of catch-up TV services (requires platform support)
Display all channels or filter by favourites

Personal Video Recorder (PVR)
The PVR Application enables a user to schedule, manage and play recordings.
Schedule recordings either directly from the EPG or manually

Provides ability to automatically record all episodes of a series, or linked programmes
Hard disk drive management – format and check disk for errors

Main Menu/Settings Menu/Parental Control
The main menu provides the user with access to available services on the device. The operator can customise this list at the time of deployment or after launch, for instance to add new services such as Flickr, Twitter, YouTube or catch-up TV services.
The settings menu supports a range of device configuration options for typical TV devices, including:

Cancel scheduled purchases
Supports a variety of common VOD business models including subscription VOD
Independent of VOD catalogue server
Given the wide range of VOD servers deployed today, the VOD application may require some configuration and integration work, depending on the VOD servers being used.
